this photo is from the annual dartmouth princeton hockey game, which i think is still always played at dartmouth. after dartmouth scores the first goal, everyone throws tennis balls at the princeton goalie and on to the ice. it lasts for like a minute. it's bonkers. you've never seen so many tennis balls.

Winchester 2, Central Catholic 1 - The Sachems, who needed an overtime win in the play-in round to get to the final eight, advanced to the crossover round with a hard-earned victory yesterday at Tsongas Arena

"Hopefully next year when the rankings come out, the Middlesex League favorite will be at second or third, where it belongs," said coach John Messuri. "Instead of eighth, ninth, or 10th all the time."

The Sachems, runners-up in the Middlesex League and the last team on the board in the Super 8 tournament selection, have a chance to come full circle by playing Burlington, the league champion, in the semifinals.

Winchester scored just 1:59 in when Peter Troiano's top-of-the-slot shot trickled through. But Central Catholic was unfazed, responding less than two minutes later on Cameron Fisichelli's slap shot.

But the Sachems had the final say, thanks to Kevin Carson, as the senior forced one home off T.J. Hickey's backhand pass with 5:41 to go in the middle frame.

haha. so it's daylight savings, but wait, what day is it? jk. it's sunday.

well, im glad i went to sleep an hour earlier than normal last night. it worked out really well, because daylight was saved, overnight! can you believe it?

big tings. yesterday was pretty cool. today should be pretty cool as well, as it looks like it's gonna be 58 degrees and sunny. woohoo!

yeahhhh. so yesterday i played basketball outside, which was fantastic. played some kid in 1 on 1. dunked a couple times. got a little more inspired to get back in shape. then kate and i went over to rob's house for dinner.

dinner was excellent. we grilled! yummmmmm, peppers and onions and seafood and local bread. fannnntastic.

clearly you can tell im also amped because boston college won their final regular season game of the 2008-2009 campaign, beating nc state on tyrese rice's senior day. rakim sanders hit a buzzer beater to put bc ahead by 1. what a game! i only had four heart attacks, which is three less than the last time bc played georgia tech, so that's an improvement.

also, there was a celtics game friday night. celtics crushed the cavs. hey cavs, why dont you try not wearing those throwback jerseys every game. they make you look silly. especially when you miss a dunk. (ohhhhhh!!!!11!!)

so yeah. today id like to go to a diner with paul, depending on if he gets back to me in time. diners rule. then theres a celtics magic game at 1, which i will watch.

yup. sunshine and sports. and theres a world baseball classic. it is during this event that i am reminded that chinese taipei is taiwan.

hey. hows it going. for like the billionth time this year (season), i went to allston sports depot last night to watch a bc game on espnu! surprise surprise! boy am i predictable. well, bc lost, but its ok. jeff told me not to get too worked up, so i wont. but yeah. too bad.

apparently if bc ends up as a 7 or 8 seed in the ncaa tournament then they would play the #1 seed in their division if they win the first game. will this happen??? who knows

yeah. so you know the new kanye album? clynton and i listened to it a while ago and we were like, "eh this is kinda lame." then a couple months later and now we really like it. pretty catchy stuff. its funny we dismissed it so early on

today i wanna get a couple things done. i wanna go to the verizon store and replace my phone. i think its been so long since ive gotten a new phone that theyll probably give me one or two for free. my current phone is super reliable, but its time to move on.

i also wanna go to the indian place for lunch in central sq that serves a buffet, shalimar. ive lived in central sq for a while now, and i havent even hit this up yet! so im really looking forward to that. gonna eat a couple plates of indian food and im gonna be very very happy.

celtics won last night in new jersey. game was pretty sweet. i watched it on tape after i got home. paul pierce hit the game winner. one thing tho -- this team is having way too many turnovers! we had freakin 19 turnovers last night!

now im all for pushing the ball hard up the floor, but with less than a quarter of the season left we really need to get less careless. its gonna be hard to win playoff games with 20 turnovers.

yeah. so my roommate and some friends went out last night. some of them claim i am responsible for them meeting each other. some dont (or do they?). who are we to believe? haha, im being silly.

i gotta watch some movies. i got some good ones. lemme see if i can recap some that i watched recently.

i watched defiance, pretty sweet movie. i watched bigger stronger faster, really really good documentary. oh yeah and i watched you dont mess with the zohan, which is also really good.

yo how's it going

hey, let's see if i can get some momentum here. it was warm yesterday, like, really warm. i went outside in shorts and played basketball for the first time since october, which was awesome. i dunked a couple times, tested out the right arm (it's not ready yet), and shot around for a bit. it's almost march, which means that winter is over in my book! good job getting through winter everyone, it wasn't easy, but we did it

i think i'm gonna go to the cape today. seeing that i haven't been to the cape since 2006 (i'm pretty sure that's sad but true) i think it's a good idea. i just have to go to winchester and take the dryer to the dump and get a haircut. shoot i also have to pack, i should prob go do that now.

i watched the celtics last night. dude, it was awesome. stephon marbury is...really good. not sure we remembered that given that he hasn't played in a year, but he's stayed in shape and still has that shooters touch. i'm actually really excited to keep on watching the celtics -- mikki moore (aka mo mikey) and stephon marbury (aka stephonius) are already really helping out this team.

i watched this movie idiocracy last night. it was very silly. i would recommend watching it only if you really like dystopic movies about the future and beavis and butthead type humor. actually, that's probably why i rented it! haha, look at what i'm learning

ok ill put a little effort into this because drew called me out.

so yeah. today i went to fulk and macklin me and roy went to felipes. got a grilled vegetables plate. excellent stuff. gotta eat vegetables! they dont teach ya that in college. :)

i went to the gym. im finally getting better about going to the gym. im going to try hard to get myself back in shape and do more outdoorsy/active type of stuff. luke's mountain bike is in the basement -- i should ride that in the fells soon. thatd be fun

then matt and i went on a journey to find a dryer -- which turned out to be pretty much identical to the one that we have that stopped working. it was pretty funny, in some dingy basement, looking at a dryer that was just a slightly newer model than the one we are getting rid of. oh well. it took a while to drive back and forth and bring it upstairs but now we have a dryer and all is well.

celtics lost last night. to the clippers. by a point. no im not lying.

then tonight friends came over. we hung out and watched some comedy central. watched some futurama. i cant really get into that show.

i saw kane today, which was cool, havent seen him in a while. he's leaving monday, so we're gonna get to hang again.

i wanted to watch a movie but now its too late. blast!

oh yeah i made these peanut butter balls. theyre officially buckeye treats or something, ill dig up the recipe. and last night we made baked haddock too, which was great. gonna try to keep on cooking good stuff! ill let you know how that goes haha, im finally getting into cooking, which is good

i went skiing today to nashoba valley with matt and farah. nashoba is a wuss mountain, but it's good to go at least once a season.

i've been hanging out, doing this and that. watching music and listening to movies, oops i mean watching movies and listening to music. it's been really good. i realize i haven't been writing down what movies or music i've been indulging in. here are some quick jots

movies -- the visitor, chop shop, role models, tropic thunder, the wrestler, gran torino, frozen river, and probably some other good ones.

drew and i went to the los angeles county art museum today. i was blown away! i saw famous paintings by magritte (this is not a pipe), picasso (blue period), kandinsky, rothko, and many more! there were millions of dollars worth of paintings and art there! truly astounding, i'm still buzzing

hey what's up. sorry i didnt post anything last week and havent really written anything in a couple weeks. i'm currently at drew's place in universal city in los angeles. i arrived here yesterday and am leaving thursday. i spent last night at andy's place in hawthorne and i think i'm gonna be at faith's wednesday. pretty cool lil trip tho!

today andy and i went to hermosa beach and drove all around and saw the port of los angeles, which is HUGE, so that was cool too. i got a couple photos.

andy and i went home and watched the bc duke game on tv because he gets NESN and bc WON. it was fantastic! now i think they'll be in the tournament. i just heard that another jeff rushed the floor and gave tyrese rice a hug. hell yeah!

aright, tomorrow i hope to go in a pool and play basketball, even if it rains. later...

i have to do this a couple times a year, you see, because there is inevitably one or two bc games that are broadcast only on espnu. comcast does not get espnu, and it doesn't make sense to get satellite just for one channel.

so i have to go to the sports depot, but it's not that bad. i like their chicken taco salad, so i'll eat something good

BOSTON (AP)—Rakim Sanders scored the go-ahead basket on a putback with 0.4 seconds left and Boston College beat Virginia Tech on Saturday night for its fourth straight victory.

Virginia Tech, which trailed most of the game before going ahead in the final minute, took its final lead on A.D. Vassallo’s free throws with 14.5 seconds to play. But Tyrese Rice brought the ball downcourt and drove to the basket; his floater bounced off the back of the rim, and Sanders leaped to lay it back in.

Tech’s desperation inbounds pass was knocked harmlessly away as the buzzer sounded.

Rice scored 16 for Boston College (17-6, 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference).

Jeff Allen had 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Hokies (14-7, 4-3).

aright, this isn't gonna be enough, but i gotta get something up here before the celtics game starts

i'm still sleepin on a couple of things, including a music post, an obama post, and some links and a new blog to put up. but fear not, i will get them up, maybe even today

i got this new vacuum cleaner, actually a used one from a neighbor that moved, and it's awesome! my old one didn't work very well, but this one cleans carpets and floors and everything! yeehaw!

so i've had a good couple of days. friday i caught up with shane, i'm gonna call him soon cause gchat doesn't do justice to old friendships, ya know?

friday i tried to go out, specifically to ben selznicks birthday party. but we were thwarted -- i first forgot that there was a bu hockey game, so i got destroyed in traffic along comm ave for a while. then i forgot that you can't park in boston -- anywhere -- so i got destroyed looking for parking

so i gave up and went back to central and got mexican food. which was good. and then i felt a lot better :)

yesterday was rad. first, matt and i went to the bc nc state game. bc won! it was a good game, bc did a lot of things right, and we were pleased. i'm glad matt got to come see a game, fun times

then, kate and i went to see the dartmouth harvard game. i know i've been talking about these games all week, but they did turn out to be so much fun! dartmouth won in overtime! yahhhh!!! good turnout of dartmouth fans, and then i bumped into sam beattie and his family, and sam and i are finally gonna hang out after missing each other at head of the charles
